THERE’S NO IFS, ands, or buts about it: Paradise has been one of the biggest TV hits of 2025 so far. The political thriller (with quite the twist) that stars Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and Julianne Nicholson has caught the collective attention of both the internet and viewing audiences everywhere, and become water cooler talk fodder at offices around the country. Everyone wants to talk about what’s happening in that darn Paradise.
The show, which follows Agent Xavier Collins (Brown), sinister billionaire Samantha “Sinatra” Redmond (Nicholson), and President Cal Bradford (Marsden) has the perfect level of mystery, twists keeping viewers on the hook, and enjoyable characters to wrangle in a very sizable audience. And, for the most part, the show delivers what it promises: each episode progresses the story forward, telling us something we didn’t know before and changing the possibility of what could happen next. (If it was up to us, though, we’d get rid of the terrible cover songs at the end of each episode. But, as Mick Jagger once sang, You Can’t Always Get What You Want.)
Now that the first season of Paradise has wrapped up, the natural question of such a sensation has arrived: What happens next, and when will we get more? Luckily, we have some pretty definitive answers to those questions, as Paradise has already been ordered for a second season, and the show will begin production again very soon.
There are a lot of mysteries in Paradise, but the show coming back for a sophomore season isn’t one of them.
Will Paradise have a season 2?
Yes! It was announced on February 20th, before the season even ended, that Paradise would be returning for season 2.
Sterling K. Brown made the above post (collaborating with a couple other official accounts), and co-star James Marsden along with famous friends like Michael B. Jordan, Kristen Bell, and Leslie Jones posted to show their approval:
What will Paradise season 2 be about?
There are a few obvious threads that season 2 of Paradise will likely continue with. First and foremost, we’ll see what comes of Xavier’s venturing out of the mountain and into (what’s left of) the outside world (thanks to Cal’s notes that he uncovered in the season 1 finale). There’s also whatever is coming with Cal’s son, Jeremy, following his discovery of the mixtape, and if he can manage to become a fairly charismatic leader or public figure in the Paradise. There’s also Jane, who we now know is a complete sociopathic wild card, willing to kill on a dime but also spare someone if it means she doesn’t get exactly what she wants? Also she seems to be blackmailing Sinatra a bit, so there’s that too.
Speaking of—due to Sinatra’s situation, it would make sense for there to be a pretty significant time jump between seasons. Mainly because Julianne Nicholson playing Sinatra is one of the show’s strongest assets, and having her recover in a hospital bed for the majority of a season of television isn’t the best way to use an Emmy-winning actress who has shown a tremendous handle on playing an interesting and nuanced villainous character.
When will Paradise season 2 come out?
People are often worried these days about lenghty breaks between TV seasons, but Paradise creator Dan Fogelman is assuring fans that this won’t be the case with his show.
“we start shooting in just a few weeks,” he wrote on X. “It won’t be 2 years I promise!”
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Paradise season 2 comes out right around the same time next year as it did this year: January. But at the latest, it sounds like we should have season 2 of Paradise by summer 2026.
